The last system we took a look at was from Eagletech. A nice little system that had decent sound quality at low to mid volume levels. Today, we will be taking a look at a set of speaker from a company that may not be as well known as Logitech or Creative but promises to offer sound quality just as good. The Genius SW-G2.1 1250 is a four piece system that comes with two satellites, woof and controller station.

I got a chance to review the Arctic Sound P321’s a while back, letting you know they were a good and affordable set. As such, I made sure to let Arctic know that I'd love to get my hands on their upgraded Professional 5.1 Gamer headset. Well my wish was granted, and I found a set waiting at home for me after work. Now I know I’ve talked about how I always skimped out on the audio side of things, but I had been trying to change that. I had hoped to improve my first person skills a little and to enjoy my music a bit more, so I had been looking at upgrading my audio. While keeping my eyes open for a great deal for this audio upgrade I became big fan of Newegg’s shell shocker deals, and over the last year I’ve gotten pretty lucky and picked up a set of Creative Fatality Gaming Headset and the Creative Fatality sound card. Those two really are meant to be together and truly provide a boost to your listening pleasure by improving the overall sound quality. So I must admit I’m a bit spoiled, which sadly to say despite my pleasant experience with the P321, was not that confident that the P531’s would be able to compete with the paired, high priced (before shell shocker) Creative set.

As Big Brother cracks down on cell phone usage while driving, along with their claims that texting and driving is hazardous to everyone else on the road, I’ve started to look into Bluetooth options. Specifically something that I can use with both my phone and iPod. I’ve tried the little earpieces over the years, but the sound quality for music isn’t there. I gave the wired ear buds with a mic a try, but the wires always got in the way or got tangled up in my pocket. So when I saw that ARCTIC Sound had the P311 available I thought I would give them a try.

Most of my time on the PC nowadays is spent NOT gaming! Sad I know, I spend more time doing homework, socializing, voice chat/Google voice phone calls, listening to music and watching HULU reruns of shows I forgot to TiVo. So I find myself needing something like the P321 to fill all those roles, not something like the $300+ Psyko 5.1 gaming headphones which are awesome for gaming, but not for all the rest.

I share the house with my sixteen year old son and my wife. We all have pc’s, my son and I have desktops and they are both located in one room and my wife has a laptop. Speakers have not always been a high priority on our list when we upgrade. For my son and I we would be drowning each other out when we are both playing games and for some reason my wife always thinks everything is too loud (unless she is jamming to something on the radio). I do have a 5.1 sound system hooked to my computer, although I only have it configured for 3.1 since my rooms layout doesn’t really allow for the rear channels. My son has been stuck with a 2.1 system that we have had for about 10 years. Don’t let the years fool you though. We have looked into many different speaker setups in stores and have never found anything that beat the old Labtec LCS 2424’s. Until now.

The Vibro is born, a small USB-powered speaker, requiring no drivers or power cord. There are only two necessities: a USB port and a sound card. According to bgears, we are promised great sound playback with no need of anything, but this little speaker and a flat surrounding. We will be giving the Vibro a try and see just what we get from this little booger.

Eagletech is mostly known for their storage enclosures. They put out several enclosures to fit various niches, but it seems they have being venturing into other product lines since we last spoke with them. Taking a look at their web site, you will see they have added speakers, iPOD docks, chassis, power supplies and even speakers to the lineup. Today, we will be taking a look at one of their speaker systems, the Arion AR504. The AR504 is a 2.1 channel audio systems that offers decent lows reproduction and great highs. If you want evidence to the short claims we have made, then I suggest you read the rest of the article and you will see just what I mean.
