Closer look
For $49.99, we have to say that the Genius SW-G2.1 1250 look pretty damn good. The black and red theme of the satellites and the control box make it a real looker. The kit has a maximum of 38 watts RMS.
We will begin with the subwoofer. The subwoofer’s enclosure is made from black MDF wood board. This is the same material we see used in after market subwoofers and other audio speakers for home and car. The woofer inside the enclosure measures 5.25” in diameter.
The satellites are not of your typical square design but more of a curvy nature. This are made of plastic and contains a 3” magnetically shielded midrange speaker. The red metallic speaker cone really set these speakers apart from other. Looking at the reverse side of the satellites we see they can be hung from the wall.
Now, we get to the control box. This box consists of just two controls which are volume and bass. There is no tremble knob present which would be nice to adjust the highs and mids. Below the bass knob are the jacks for headsets and microphones. This is great for those that game chat or use applications like Skype.
Turning the control box around there are the plug-ins for the subwoofer and two satellites. Besides this three RCA plugs are two more for input devices like televisions, MP3 players and consoles.
