Introduction

The world is filled with large coolers that help overclockers to achieve ungodly front side bus overclocks.  And these large coolers can put a nice dent in your pockets. Take a look at coolers like the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme aka T.R.U.E., many of the Zalman coolers, and units from ASUS and it is clear that such coolers can set you back about 60 to 70 dollars,  while enabling us to get every extra megahertz out of our processors. The thing is, a lot of us don’t need this type of cooler. Just something to replace the stock heatsink that tends to be a little noisy and under-performing.

If you fall into the category of the individual who does not need a lot of cooling then Scythe’s newest offering may be just what you need. The Shuriken is a whole lot of cooler in a small package. If you were looking for a 815 plus gram behemoth like Scythe’s other newest coolers, the Ninja Copper and Zipang, don’t look any further. Beyond this page is a lightweight of a cooler. At just over 355 grams, the Shuriken is geared at the Intel and AMD stockers. The Shuriken looks a whole lot like the Zipang, but does so on a smaller scale, so how is the cooling? Lets find out what she can do.
