NZXT Tempest Mid Tower
two we have seen some exciting cases coming from their stable. We don't have the Khaos on the review table for you today but we do have another good looking case from NZXT, the Tempest. NZXT has this case labled as the Airflow King. At first sight you can see this case may be able to live up to that slogan and if you can't see the reason for this slogan then let me spell it out for you. This case can hold up to six 120mm cooling fans and the fans are placed in areas where they would blow over the motherboard, video card and hard drives.

Vantec NexStar MX Raid Edition
Earlier in the year we got a chance to review the Vantec 400MX-S2 that boasts dual hard drive support but no raid but had JBOD capabilities. This was a pretty cool enclosure, one that is still around today acting as a backup storage device for this site. You can never have enough backups. But today we are going to review Vantecs newest MX enclosure entitled the 400MX-SR. I bet you can guess what is different about this one compared to the last model. Ok, give up? Raid! The new unit has Raid 1/0 as well as JBOD.

Nvidia drops due to ATI?
"Over the past several days we have spent some time with several Nvidia’s partners in the Silicon Valley and in Taiwan, which made it obvious that there are tensions between GPU manufacturers and add-in board companies. A raging price is put five companies on the verge of bankruptcy. We cannot disclose who almost kicked the bucket, but we were told that three vendors are still walking on very thin ice."

Lian Li Tyr 500
Lian Li is well known for craftsmanship and quality, and the Tyr X500 is no exception. The stylish and unique side panels accept 2x 5.25” Optical Device Drives and one 3.5” drive, which are accessible from either the left or right side, while the front face is for ergonomics with a stylish diamond cut and airflow from side intake vents. Showcasing the new style, with an all black anodized interior, an easily removable front panel which covers 2x 120mm silent intake fans, protected by the removable and washable nylon dust cover and 2x 120mm exhaust fans, one for each heat zone. The top mounted multimedia ports include 4x USB 2.0 ports, 1x Firewire (IEEE1394), 1x E-SATA, and HD AC97 Audio ports. The patented tool-less latch allows easy access to the compartmented heat zones inside with enough room to support 300mm long VGA cards, plus 4x HDD’s. Other traditional Lian Li innovations have been improved upon such as the removable motherboard tray with holes for better CPU cooling and added anti-vibration couplings, as well as the specially filed and brushed finish to reduce sharp edges giving the case both style, and an aspect of safety.

Coolink releases Chillaramic thermal compound
Based on ceramic nano-particles, Chillaramic doesn't only provide excellent performance but also completely eliminates the risk of short circuits, making it perfect for crucial applications. Both novice and experienced users will appreciate the fact that the paste is very easy to apply and to clean off.
Tailor-made for the cooling enthusiast, Chillaramic doesn't require a longer burn-in time and can be used with air, water and evaporative cooling systems.
Last but not least, the paste comes in big 10g tubes which are sufficient for at least 30 applications on today's CPUs. So at a suggested retail price of EUR 6.90 / USD 8.90, one tube of Coolink Chillaramic will give you a lot of excellent paste at an excellent price!
Coolink

Nvidia to cut mid-range GPU pricing to counter AMD
"Facing pressure from AMD as it launches its ATI Radeon HD 4850 GPU priced at US$199, Nvidia plans to counter by reducing the price of the GeForce 9800 GTX GPU.
Nvidia will reduce the price of the 9800 GTX from around US$299 to US$199, and will launch the GeForce 9800 GTX+ priced around US$229.
The 9800 GTX+ adopts a 55nm G92 core with a shader clock of 1,836MHz and 738MHz core frequency. Sources at the company claim the performance of the 980 GTX+ will be 22% faster than AMD's 4850."

Silverstone Raven Gaming Mouse
As gaming and computer productivities become more refined, having the ability to fine-tune and customize the mouse movements becomes more crucial than ever. To help meet this challenge, SilverStone created the Raven gaming mouse. “RAVEN by SilverStone” was created to bring a group of products with the focus heightened toward a different set of rules. This brilliantly designed input device, RVM01B, gives gamer and users unprecedented control over the mouse movement by not only utilizing a blistering fast laser sensor capable of 3200dpi and 50G of acceleration, but also adds independent X & Y axis adjustments. The result of these combined features ensures that the Raven mouse can respond to every movement from the user with pinpoint accuracy and tailor-made feel not possible before with ordinary gaming mice. With perfectly centered laser, 50-50 weight balance, carbon fiber surfacing, and a convenient thumb wheel that can perform quick task switching (in Windows XP) and flip 3D (in Windows Vista), the Raven is ready to play and work for the most demanding gamers and power users.

AMD Preps Radeon 4850 Launch for June 25
"The Radeon 4850 features a 625 MHz core clock and GDDR3 clock in excess of 2000MHz. Corporate documentation explains that the 480 stream processors on the RV770 processor offer considerable enhancements over the 320 stream processors found in the RV670 core, though AMD memos reveal little about how this is accomplished."

Take-Two yawns as EA extends takeover offer yet again
"Reuters reports that the offer of $25.75 per share is now good until July 18. At present, roughly 7.9 percent of the total controlling interest of Take-Two, or 6.14 million shares, has been tendered. This is a slight decrease from last month's figures, which ended up at 6.21 million shares tendered. Enthusiasm for the take-over among Take-Two shareholders may be waning."

AMD stream processor first to break one teraflop barrier
"Customers can leverage AMD's latest FireStream offering to run critical workloads such as financial analysis or seismic processing dramatically faster than with CPU alone, helping them to address more complex problems and achieve faster results. For example, developers are reporting up to a 55 times performance increase on financial analysis codes as compared to processing on the CPU alone, which supports their efforts to make better and faster decisions. Additionally, the use of flexible GPU technology rather than custom accelerators assists those creating application-specific systems to enhance and maintain their solutions easily, said AMD."

Intel E5000 replaces E2000
"In addition to introducing the Q8000 family of quads, Intel will, in Q3 bring out a new CPU series, one aimed at the sub-$100 market segment. The E5000s will all be 45nm-built dual-core processors and they will be replacing the E2000s which are based on older 65nm Allendale core.
Lacking VT and TXT, the E5000 CPUs will have a FSB of 800 MHz and an L2 cache of 2MB, one third that of the already released Wolfdale dual-core parts. Featuring a 65W TDP and a frequency of 2.5 GHz, the first E5000 CPU will be dubbed E5200. This one will come in Q3 and cost about $84 (in 1000-unit tray quantities).
