New Spotter GPS Navigator Features Directions from
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver

Rochester, MN  (May 11, 2010) Transplant GPS and ALK Technologies, in conjunction with Stewart-Haas Racing and NASCAR®, today announced the introduction of the SPOTTER GPS Navigator, Tony Stewart Edition featuring NASCAR Sprint Cup series driver and team owner, Tony Stewart.

The Spotter GPS Navigator, Tony Stewart Edition combines fun with functionality. Designed specifically for NASCAR and Tony Stewart fans, the Spotter, Tony Stewart Edition provides turn-by-turn voice guidance directly from Stewart, the driver of the Office Depot/Old Spice Chevrolet and two-time Sprint Cup series Champion. Starting with, “Hey driver, Tony Stewart here.  Start your engine.” Tony Stewart will get you to where you’re going, even if you miss a turn or two and he has to tell you, “Turn around buddy.”

Although you can’t drive Tony Stewart’s race car, you can select which car – Office Depot car or the Old Spice car – to put on the road as the GPS pointer.  The Spotter, Tony Stewart Edition can also help you decide where to go with over a million points of interest, including Tony Stewart and NASCAR specific points-of-interest such as NASCAR Home Tracks, NASCAR Speed Parks, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series tracks and team garages.  There is even a pre-loaded Race Shop Tour route featuring race teams and garages in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.

Powered by ALK's award-winning CoPilot® GPS navigation software, the Spotter, Tony Stewart Edition utilizes the latest in technology -- such as the SiRF Atlas IV chipset -- to create a fast, responsive, and reliable navigation device.  The maps can be updated on-line with CoPilot Central by connecting the unit to a PC via the mini-USB cable provided.  Through CoPilot Central, the user is able to download free quarterly full map updates from ALK's MapSure™ service through December 2010.

The Spotter GPS Navigator, Tony Stewart Edition also includes the following navigation features:

  • CoPilot ClearTurn™ & Lane Assist for navigating complex interchanges on major highways
  • Turn-by-turn full street name voice guidance (not available in Tony Stewart's voice)
  • Automatic route calculation and re-calculation
  • Clear 2D, 3D & Driver Safety map views
  • English, French, Spanish language options
  • Automatic day/night mode
  • Destination entry by zip code, city, street or intersection
  • Multi-stop planning with route optimization

With intuitive menus and Tony Stewart's assistance, navigating from place to place anywhere in the United States has never been easier or more fun.  The Spotter, Tony Stewart Edition has a MSRP of $179.99 and is currently available at the NASCARsuperstore.com and rightwaygps.com.
