Winbond completes transition to 300mm fab production

Taiwan's Winbond Electronics, which has shifted its focus from standard DRAM to niche memory and NOR flash, has recently completed its migration to 300mm wafer fab production, according to the company.

Winbond posted revenues of NT$1.4 billion (US$42.6 million) in June, up 2.5% on month but down 33.6% from 2008. The memory maker attributed the sales growth to rising orders of specialty DRAM for LCD TV, set-top box (STB) and hard disk drive (HDD) applications. As for mobile RAM, sales generated from the segment went down slightly in June, as a result of customer inventory adjustments, according to the company. DigiTimes
