Introduction
Aerocool to Zalman, good clean power and ample amphere to shiny coats, detachable cables and fans that have blades with alternate colors, I have reviewed some distinguished and outstanding power supply units for Pro-Clockers over the years. The question is, which company would come up with one that would surprise us?
And the answer is- The Hiper Type R, these power supply units are a welcome break from the standard units. They generated a lot of hype and interest because of the unique metal couplers that attach the modular cables to the power supply. Even I thought this was a pretty cool feature from Hiper as it gave the units a clean mechanical look. The mesh housing added to the unit’s distinct build.
Hiper was kind enough to contact us to review the latest in their Type R series offering- The Mark 2 or MK 2. The metal connectors are a surprise omission, I loved them, but the mesh housing stays. New on the MK2 units is the increased efficiency rating and power support. The surprise addition is USB ports! Keep reading to find out what a power supply and USB have in common.
