Conclusion

Spire is known for manufacturing some really nice cases and cooling products, but with what we saw in the Blackmoon XP their reputation will grow to include power supplies. The Blackmoon XP is a very quiet power supply that can be used very successfully in any environment including home theatre setups. With the modular cablings being a feature of the Blackmoon we feel that Spire will have great success with this power supply. While testing we saw that the Blackmoon XP was extremely stable in a real world setup. The voltage rails flucuations were minimal. Making for an ideal power supply for anyone wanting to build a nice gaming rig or a file server size home theatre machine.

The only thing I would like to see with the Blackmoon is more SATA connectors and less four pin Moloex ones. The way of the computer build is SATA drives and SSD media. Rigs that would need such a power supply would be built more with up-to-date items like these and not older PATA devices.
